Produced by Etsuko Takano—manager of the legendary Iwanami Hall and former classmate of Rocha—with stylized and literary Japanese dialogue written by documentarian Sumiko Haneda, Rocha's ambitious, Luso-Japanese co-production—14 years in the making—screens next Friday 3/13 in a new 4K restoration as a tribute to Haneda and Rocha.
